Jason has been staying super busy this summer! He’s working as an apprentice—that means he’s helping real builders and learning all about construction.
He’s learning how to build strong walls, use the right tools, and work as a team. Jason wants to understand every part of building so that one day, when he starts his own construction company, he’ll know how to do things the right way—and set high standards for his team!

Alison is a free online learning platform that offers valuable business lessons. While it's not specifically designed for kids, the information can still be very helpful for young learners who want to explore how businesses work.

IXL provides a massive number of classes for all ages. Most have an free introduction the the subjects listed.
Marketing is important!
Jason soon found out there is a lot more to running a construction company, than just construction. He needed to learn marketing on social media to let the world know what he does!
During the school year, Jason continues to take extra classes that can help him when his business is expanding.
He has also learned social interaction is really important. He joined a Golf Team, so he could meet people in the building field and make new friends. As the saying goes, it's not just what you know—it’s who you know! It can be your network, that opens doors.
Working at the club.
Working at a golf club allows Jason to learn golf. All the big builders in his home town are members and employees have access for free.

It's like being an apprentice and learning the trade hands on. In this case he is learing how to make friends and be part of the community.

He already met most of the people on the planning comission when playing golf. Now they are going to select which company will build the new golf course and clubhouse. Jason's Construction has a good chance of getting the contract.
